Born on May 28th 1968 in Melbourne, Australia Kylie Minogue first came to
the British public's attention from her appearance on the soap Neighbours.
She released a cover version of Little Eva's Locomotion which was a big hit
going to number 1 in Australia and England. This was quickly followed up by
I Should Be So Lucky. Kylie was now signed up to the hugely successful production
team of Stock Aitken Waterman
Kylie Minogue emerged as one of the most successfully marketed acts of the
late 80s and early 90s, with books and movies, including The Delinquents.
In 1991, the former soap star drastically changed her girl-next door image
and adopted a sexier persona, which won her even more media coverage - particularly
when she became romantically involved with INXS lead singer, Michael Hutchence.
