Presenter of "Who wants to be a Millionaire", Chris
Tarrant was born 1946 in Reading. He likes badger watching, and ginger
biscuits, as well as fishing! but dislikes the nightlife of London.
During his amazing career he has received too many honours to mention, but
once won an award for making a film about.....rope!
He used to be a teacher and went into show business becuase 'it seemed like
a cushy number'.
Show like Tiswas and Tarrant on TV have all become very popular, and have
helped to make Chris a favourite with all ages. He has often been described
as a workaholic. His busy schedule often means he finishes 'Who Wants to be
a Millionaire"' at midnight and has to be in the Capital FM studio the
next morning to do the Breakfast Show. He once fell asleep against a wall,
and was woken by someone wanting his autograph!
